Animest is one of the biggest animation festivals in Eastern Europe. In 2022, they held a competition for artists to create a mural depicting the festival’s theme, LOVE. I illustrated an article for Antropedia Sfertul Academic, written by anthropologist Gerard Weber, about how changes in ex-communist factories affected local communities. Privatizations, restructuring and layoffs in factories like the one in Galati have left many without the possibility to support their families and without hope that the future can bring them something good.
